Terms of use
Last updated October 2026. These terms apply to buyers who send an RFQ and to shops that register for leads.
What Coating Vendor is
Coating Vendor (coatingvendor.com) is a matching service for metal finishing. Buyers send requests for quotation (RFQs). We pass a preview of each RFQ to finishing shops whose processes and specs fit, and release the full request to up to 3 shops that take it.
We do not plate, coat or treat parts, and we are not a party to any quote, order or contract between a buyer and a shop. Price, quality, delivery, payment and warranty are agreed between the two of them.
For buyers
Sending an RFQ and receiving quotes is free. You confirm that the details you send are accurate and that you may share the drawings and files you upload for the purpose of getting quotes.
You choose whether to work with any shop that contacts you. Check certificates, approvals and samples yourself before you place an order. If you ask for an NDA, we share only the preview until the shop has signed it.
For shops
You confirm that the processes, specs, approvals and line sizes you register are accurate and current. We use them to decide which previews you receive.
Each preview shows the lead price before you decide. You pay only for the leads you take. Payment terms are stated with the price.
If a buyer contact does not work or the part differs clearly from the preview, tell us. We review it and credit the lead when the claim holds.
A lead is for your own quote. Do not resell it, pass the files to another company or use the buyer details for anything other than quoting and fulfilling that request. Reply to the buyer within 48 hours, sign an NDA when asked and decline work you cannot run.
Files and confidential information
Drawings and files stay the property of the buyer. Shops that receive them use them only to quote and make the parts for that buyer. How we store and delete files is described on the privacy page.
Technical content on this site
Thickness ranges, hardness values, spec summaries and other figures in our guides and finish pages are typical values for general information. They are not promised results. The drawing, the spec it names and the shop that runs the process decide the actual result.
Limits of our responsibility
We check that a request fits the processes a shop has registered. We do not inspect parts, audit shops on your behalf or guarantee the work, price or delivery of any shop or the payment of any buyer. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from a contract between a buyer and a shop.
